Final score Pressure 45 Holyrood (2) 14

On Sunday 1st March U15 Pressure travelled through to Edinburgh today for their quarter final match against Holyrood 2

Having never played against this side the players and coaching team didn't know what to expect. However a strong first quarter saw Pressure easily net from their own Centre passes and great defensive pressure from Grace Laverty (WD), Lydia Porter-Smith (GD) and Anne Young (GK) saw them turn over several of Holyrood's. Quarter time score 13-4 to Pressure.

No changes were made going into the second quarter to allow the girls to get into a good rhythm. Despite this, Pressure struggled to find the net in the first 5 minutes of this quarter allowing Holyrood to narrow the gap to 14 goals to 8. However, a key turnover from Lydia Porter-Smith that was converted by Abbie Murray (GS), allowed the team to get back into their rhythm. The half time score 22-11 to Pressure.

Changes made going into the third were Eilidh McNaughton on to WD, Rona Wilson on to GD and Lydia Porter-Smith back to GK.

After a shaky start to the second quarter the G84 side had a lot to prove. The defensive pressure continued from Eilidh, Rona and Lydia with numerous turnovers allowing Mackenzie Serpell (C) and Mhairi Cromar (WA) to easily feed the shooting duo of Eleanor Young (GA) and Abbie. This was a particularly strong quarter, 36-13 to Pressure.

Only one change was made going into the final quarter with Rachel Moore coming onto GS. The defence were again relentless in this quarter allowing Holyrood only 1 goal. The final score 45-14 to Pressure securing them a place against Newtonhill (Aberdeen) in the semi final of the Scottish Youth Cup.

Team: Abbie Murray, Anne Young, Eilidh McNaughton, Eleanor Young, Grace Laverty, Kate Addo, Lydia Porter-Smith, Mackenzie Serpell, Mhairi Cromar, Rachel Moore and Rona Wilson.
